Area 5 Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer with Special Olympics New Mexico during our 2026 Spring season.
Volunteer age requirement: Volunteers must be age 16 or older for these volunteer opportunities due to the nature of the role and responsibilities.
Individuals and groups are welcome. Once all of the volunteer spots are full, we close registration.
Area 5 Bocce and Flag Football Competitions:
Date: Saturday, April 18th
Shift Time: 6:30 AM – 1 PM
Register: Register for Area 5 Bocce and Flag Football
Location: King Meadows Park in Rio Rancho
Address: 3601 King Blvd NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144
Volunteer role: Volunteers will be scorekeepers for the competition. Volunteers will also help set up and tear down bocce and flag football venues. We will distribute volunteers between bocce and flag football.
Area 5 Volleyball Competition:
Date: Sunday, April 19th
Location: The Fieldhouse in Albuquerque

Shift Time: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Register: Register for Area 5 Volleyball
Volunteer role: Volunteers will be scorekeepers for the competition.
Area 5 Athletics (Track & Field) Competition:
Date: Sunday, April 26th
Shift Time: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Register: Register for Area 5 Track & Field
Location: V Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho

Volunteer role: Volunteers will be scorekeepers/timers/escorts for the competition. Roles/duties will be assigned as needed by the Sports staff. Volunteers may also help set up and tear down the track & field venues.
