SONM Athlete Nominations for the 2022 USA Games

The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will be held June 5-12, 2022 in Orlando, Florida. Special Olympics New Mexico athletes, families, and coaches: The USA Games Athlete Nomination Form is available on our website now through Monday, August 23! This is your chance to nominate a Special Olympics athlete to represent New Mexico at the Special Olympics USA Games! All information is included below.

June 5-12, 2022, the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will unite more than 5,500 athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the Caribbean and 125,000 spectators during one of the country’s most cherished sporting events. We all have reasons to shine. For Special Olympics athletes, one of those reasons is the love of sport. Special Olympics athletes display remarkable abilities not only on the field, but in all areas of life. Hot Dog Eating Contest hosted by Farmington PD

Farmington Police Department presents:
Hot Dog Eating Contest benefitting Special Olympics New Mexico.
Join us on Friday, August 20 at McGee Park in Farmington. The contest begins at 5:30 PM. That’s right–we are kicking off the SONM Four Corners Invitational weekend with a Hot Dog Eating Contest!
$50 entry fee. For every $100 you fundraise, you’ll be given a credit for one hot dog. Your stomach will thank you!

Join us for a Tip-a-Cop event hosted by Las Cruces Police Department!
Date: Friday, August 6
Event time: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Locations: Andele Restaurant and Andele Dog House in Mesilla, NM.
Proceeds directly support Special Olympics New Mexico.

Otero County Prison Facility Torch Run

Otero County Prison Facility Torch Run will be held on Friday, July 23.
The run begins at 9:00 a.m. at Yucca Heights Elementary School. The run finishes at Otero County Prison Facility and hamburgers & brats will be sold beginning at 11:30 AM.
Join NMLETR law enforcement personnel as they run in support of Special Olympics New Mexico!
